Salcombe is a passionate, hard driving new EDM artist (Nov 2024) who enjoys deeply emotional and uplifting music – principally, but not always, euphoric house and melodic techno music. Salcombe’s relentless energy and drive to produce great new music is fuelled by many many years spent/wasted in a prior career that was neither fun nor fulfilling, surrounded by (often, but not always to be fair) money obsessed, self-important people who took from the world but gave very little back.

Salcombe (aka 46 year old Englishman Jake Kingsbury) is now committed full time to an EDM career where he hopes to produce a wide range of music tracks – some commercial, some not, some long, some short and some perhaps just ‘different’. Salcombe regards life as a unique (and often challenging but sometimes fun) journey for each person and believes his journey in EDM production should accordingly be wide and varied and offer listeners something fresh and new from time to time. Unconstrained by any need to ‘have to’ do anything in music (or life) Salcombe hopes to inspire others to also express their true creativity without fear or worry – life is far too short for that.

In particular, Salcombe wishes to pass on a message to the younger generation(s) that he wished he had learned earlier in life – namely that if you want to live an exceptional life, you have to perform exceptionally. When he was younger, he thought ‘that’ll do’ was fine. But it is not fine. It is far better to create a very small amount of truly ‘exceptional’ items (whether in music, film or art or anything else) than a whole load of mediocre ones. You may be flavour of the month/year even, but over time, nobody remembers mediocrity. And you can only truly create exceptional art if you are working on something that you are truly passionate about on a daily basis. If you love doing something, it’s no chore, it’s a joy and this often results in far higher performance levels.

In addition, Salcombe has no time for people (whatsoever) who are not kind and courteous at all times. And Salcombe is neither impressed nor unimpressed by the apparent ‘status’ of any individual or brand. Salcombe does not need or want to receive anything for ‘free’ from any person outside his own family.

Salcombe’s music is powered exclusively by his trusted MacBook Pro 2023 and Logic software. That’s it. There is no studio, no millions of hangers on congratulating him on his latest ‘masterpiece’. And he thinks his music is good (sometimes exceptional) but he lets you be the judge of that. All he can do is keep going, keep improving and hopefully provide joy to others with his music.

As Maximus said in Gladiator, ‘what we do in life….echoes in eternity!’

PS there is absolutely no copyright infringement or AI sounds in Salcombe’s music. Salcombe creates his tracks (currently) using a combination of his own sounds (usually created with Serum) and by carefully selecting and arranging royalty free samples (vocal and/or instrumental) from the world’s market leader in providing such samples which are specifically provided to be used by musical artists in commercial releases.
